Down by the Bay...

Last weekend I made my first trip to San Francisco! I went out there to visit my best friend and Coree. We were roommates for all 4 years of college and now we live 1600 miles apart! It was so nice to have some girl time to ourselves to catch up and explore the city. On Friday we went and saw Wicked, which was amazing! So many sights and sounds it's hard to take it all in. It's almost overwhelming, and that's what I love about it! Unfortunately the don't let you take pictures...ugh...so frustrating...

On Saturday we spent the day walking around the city. We started off at the local farmers market where the air was saturated with the smell of fresh flowers and produce. We found a little pastry shop and indulged in several of them :) Next was a wine bar! I love wine, and drinking it at noon with your best friend is definitely the way to go...

Then we walked down to Pier 39 where we saw Sea Lions and a whole fleet of sailboats. Along the way we found wine bar #2... don't judge... this time we drank Sangria! About that time we saw this amazing thing called the "Rocket Boat" that basically takes you out on the bay and whirls you around at 45 mph. We thought it looked like a good idea... so much for our hair the rest of the day!! We were freezing from the wind and water after our boat ride so we found a restaurant with an outside patio and fireplace!

After some time well spent sitting around the fire, we decided to drive around the city some so I could see some of the buildings and architecture. We even drove down "the most crooked street in America". It was nuts! I can't believe people actually live on this street! After that, we headed back to Walnut creek where we went out for the evening with one of Coree's new California friends...

It was an awesome trip, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Now it's Coree's turn to come to Oklahoma!!

On our way to Wicked!

The Start of Something New...

This is a big entry for me... I am starting a new business venture! As many of you know I thoroughly enjoy my photography hobby, and I would like to take it to the next level. Thus, Caitlyn.Marie.Photography is born!!

I have always enjoyed taking pictures, starting back when I took several photography classes in high school. However, when I went to college the hobby was forgotten, and my picture taking was reduced to whatever I could snap with my point and shoot while out with my friends. Now however, I am out of college, married, settled, and ready to expand my horizons! My passion for photography has reignited and I want to dig deeper with it.

I love to photograph all of God's beautiful creations. Whether it is flowers, sunsets, wildlife, landscapes, or two people in love, things made by our Creator fascinate me! That being said, I have spent most of my time lately photographing plants and sunsets... I don't have any kids, or pets, or nearby family! My husband is so sweet, but I think he's getting rather tired of being my main subject...

So, how do I get an opportunity to test out my talents and see if I have what it takes to be a photographer?? Well, that's where you come in... I am looking for any family or friends that would volunteer to be my Guinea pigs. I want to do a photo shoot for you; either individual portraits, couples, families, or children. For the first 5 people who take me up on this offer, I will do the photo shoot (probably 2-3 hours) as well as provide you a DVD of high-resolution files for FREE!!

I hope that some of you will take me up on this offer, I believe it can benefit both of us. I would like the experience and opportunity to expand my portfolio, and you will get some fun new pictures for FREE! I would like to thank you in advance for helping support my dream and giving my talent the opportunity to grow. Below is a copy of my new business card... contact me to set up an appointment! I hope to hear from you soon...

Family & Flowers

Hello everyone!

I am trying to get back on track with blogging, so I think I owe you all an update. Last weekend Dwyatt and I went down to Texas to visit some of my family. He had never met this part of my family before (which is sad considering we're already married...) and we had so much fun! Between long conversation, gourmet food, and fabulous wine, it was a very relaxing weekend.

We have been also spending a lot of time in our garden and flower beds. They are our "babies" right now, and we're trying to make them grow! We finally have some flowers out, so I'll show you some pictures of them, as well as my Aunt's orchids...

This weekend I'm off to San Francisco and I am beyond excited! I am going to visit my best friend in the whole world, and we have lots of plans in the works! Wine tasting, shopping, a Broadway play... I'm sure to come back with some awesome pictures, so stay tuned!

Camping!

Well, I am finally blogging again!! It has been over a month...oops! This weekend we went camping at Lake Arcadia here in Oklahoma. We recently bought a tent so we decided to try it out. The best part is that Lake Arcadia is only 15 mins from our house so it was so easy :) Chels and Ryan came with us and we had a blast, as usual! We spent the day laying in tubes drinking our fill of beer and soaking up some rays. Then we cooked some burgers and roasted marshmallows! It was interesting to be "away from it all"...but only 5 minutes from a Walmart! Here are a few pics from our weekend...

Also, my Magnolia tree is blooming! I included a picture of it's beautiful flower just for fun :) The flowers smell even more beautiful than they look!
